Centered on students, powered by collaboration, built on equity, and driven by excellence.

First, there is new traffic routing due to construction as we begin the school year. Make sure to plan ahead and give yourself some extra time for your commute. If you're driving, follow the signs and directions to navigate the construction areas safely. The attached map shows where to drop off your student and where buses will be unloading and picking up.

Please note:
*All paths are one-way, as indicated on the map.

*There is no parking in the church's parking lot.
*Students may enter at the 7th-grade entrance near the library in the front, the 7th-grade side entrance, or the 8th-grade side entrance.
*Sped buses will be unloading at the 8th-grade side entrance.
*Staff will be parking in the paved parking lot near the softball fields.
*Reminder the Main Office is now located in the 7th-grade house.

Secondly,  thanks to the City of Dallas for their work on the flashing lights that were installed recently. This is a step forward in helping to keep our students and other community members safe.

Finally, safety is a top priority, so please pay attention to any instructions from traffic controllers and stay patient as everyone adjusts to the new routes.

Have a great start to the school year!

Welcome

Dear LaCreole Students and Families,

I am humbled and honored to introduce myself as your new principal and join this excellent school community. I can assure you that I share your dedication to caring for our students and providing them a meaningful learning environment.

The 2021-22 school year will mark my 26th year in education. I began my career at an inner-city high school in Dallas, Texas teaching social studies. From Texas, I accepted a position as the IB Economics teacher at the International School of Budapest in Hungary. I was there for ten years and then moved back to my home state of Oregon. I was raised in the Silverton area and graduated from Silverton High School, as did my husband, Karl, and daughter Kili

Upon moving back to Oregon, I worked as the Talented and Gifted District Coordinator at the Oregon Trail School District before being promoted to Vice-Principal at Oregon Trail Academy (OTA). OTA is the district's charter school and also offers the district's online program. I was in charge of 6-12, which over the next eight years gave me quite a bit of experience into the wonders and challenges of middle school.

This summer, I plan to spend most of my time working with Jamie Richardson and other district leaders to ensure a smooth transition after this period of Covid. I will get to know our building, our community and familiarize myself with the unique needs of our school. I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education, which only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. I am genuinely excited to get to know the Dallas community better.

To conclude, please remember that my door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input this year. Let us continue to keep our students the focus. I can't wait to celebrate our collective successes this school year!

Go Wildcats!

¡Vamos Gatos Salvajes!
